The black screen fades away. The bus driver is still standing right in front of the elderly woman, and the entire bus is dead silent. Not a soul moves.
The driver looks at her calmly and says, «Ma’am, before you say another word, take a good look at this boy.»
The elderly woman frowns, glances over at the child, and replies, «I only see a boy sitting in a seat.»
The driver offers a slight smile. «I see someone who helped me out this morning.»
The woman looks confused, and the other passengers start tuning in.
The driver continues, «My wallet dropped near the bus stop.»
The little boy casts his eyes downward.

«He found it,» the driver goes on.
Passengers exchange surprised glances.
«He could’ve kept every cent.»
Silence washes over the bus.
«Instead, he ran several blocks just to give it back to me.»
The elderly woman is left speechless. The driver rests a hand gently on the boy’s shoulder. «Not many people would do that.»
The boy looks a little embarrassed, while his mother beams with pride.
The driver adds, «So yeah, today that seat belongs to him.»
A few passengers begin to smile. One woman stands up, then a man, and then another rider. Suddenly, multiple empty seats open up across the bus.
The elderly woman looks ashamed. She drops her gaze, looks back over at the boy, and after a few quiet seconds, murmurs, «I’m sorry.»
The boy smiles warmly. «It’s okay.»
The woman finally takes a seat, and the bus rolls forward again. It feels like the moment has passed.
Then, the driver glances at the boy one more time. His expression shifts. He suddenly looks emotional—deeply, overwhelmingly emotional.
The boy notices and asks, «Sir… why are you looking at me like that?»
The driver stays quiet, his eyes welling up with tears. He leans in and whispers, «Because you look just like someone I lost a very long time ago…»
